The new cheap jerseys you see in the picture above may officially be a thing of the past. The Denver Broncos took player photos for ‘network day’ on Tuesday, and appear to have revealed a slight jersey modification.
Did you catch it?
Looking through the rest of the photos, it’s clear that the Broncos made a slight modification to the collar on their authentic jerseys. The picture at the top of this post has a thicker collar with a bit of a zig-zag pattern inside of it.
The new collar is thinner, more simplistic in design, and really gives the jersey a much cleaner look overall. It could be just the thinner collar as well, but the stripes on the side of the jersey appear thinner than the ones used last season as well.
It’s not the jersey change I would like to see permanently for the Broncos — I want cheap Broncos jerseys to use the Color Rush jerseys on a full-time basis — but it’s a nice modification for the 2017 season. There’s nothing I hate more than an NFL jersey that is too ‘busy’ or ‘loud’ (looking at you, Jaguars).
The Broncos’ new age jersey has evolved a bit over the years, but this latest modification by Nike is probably about as close to the last ones we saw from Reebok yet. The first jersey modification by Nike involved the torture of a polo-style collar for an entire season.
That was quickly squashed, and the Broncos are now finally back to something fairly ‘traditional’ as far as this cheap jersey and overall look goes.
