Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles isn’t a fan of the color rush jerseys the team will wear during Thursday night’s game at Tennessee. The tops and pants are supposed to be gold but they look more like brown mustard and Bortles couldn’t hold his tongue when asked about them on Tuesday.
“I think somebody’s got to tell the truth, so I might as well be the first to say it: I think they’re ugly as hell,” Bortles said on a teleconference with Nashville media. “I’m not a big fan of the mustard. I think they could have done a better job, and I think they should choose a different color.”
Teal, for example, Bortles said, but then remembered the Titans’ color rush uniforms are a light blue and that would clash.
“I think teal could pop,” he said. “But are you guys going baby blue again? So maybe those are too close. I’d like an all white. Maybe we could paint our helmet one color solidly and go all white.”
All white would be a neat look, and it would certainly take care of what Uni Watch’s Paul Lukas said was the worst helmet design in NFL history. All-white would be a big upgrade from the two-tone gold-to-black design.
Bortles said he does like the Titans’ color rush wholesale nfl jerseys, which nearly every team will wear during their Thursday night games.
“I think they looked good,” Bortles said. “They could be all red. That could be cool, but I think the baby blue looks good. I think any time you get a chance to kind of put on some funky cheap jerseys and go play on national television on Thursday night, it’s a cool opportunity.”
